The collection of Romanesque buildings in the Vall de Boí is made up of the Churches of Sant Climent i Santa Maria de Taüll, Sant Joan de Boí, Santa Eulàlia d`Erill la Vall, Sant Feliu de Barruera, la Nativitat de Durro, Santa Maria de Cardet, l`Assumpció de Cóll and the Ermita de Sant Quirc de Durro. All these buildings date from the 11th and 17th centuries.
The Romanesque architecture of the Vall de Boí is exceptional in its dense concentration in such a small area of such a large number of Churches of the same architectural style, Romanesque style imported from Lombardy, preserved over time with minor changes made which have almost completely left the original designs unchanged.
Among the features that characterise this style of architecture are the functionality of the buildings themselves, the painstaking carving of the stone, the graceful tower belfries, and the exterior decoration of blind arches and Lombard bands.
On 30 November 2000 the UNESCO declared the collection of Catalan Romanesque Churches in the de la Vall de Boí, a World Heritage Site composed of nine monumental churches.
